INVITATION TO ATTEND

You are cordially invited to attend and participate in the Twenty-First Vertebrate Pest Conference.  This conference is an educational event for discussing and exchanging information on problems and solutions to wildlife damage and undesirable interactions between wildlife and people.  The Vertebrate Pest Conference will be held March 1 - 4, 2004, at the Radisson Hotel and the adjoining Convention Center in Visalia, California.  Visalia is located in the San Joaquin Valley, half way between Los Angeles to the south and Sacramento to the north. Nearby Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks and the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains provide excellent recreational opportunities for hikers, photographers, fisherman and others who enjoy the outdoors.  The City of Visalia provides a small town feel with big city amenities.

The Vertebrate Pest Conference, which is held every two years, is one of the largest and most recognized conferences of its kind.  Participants and attendees include leading authorities on vertebrate pest management from the United States, Canada, and throughout the world.  All papers are presented in English.

This announcement is intended to alert you to the next conference and encourage you to participate.  Set aside these dates on your calendar and make plan to attend. A preliminary program for the conference will be mailed to you in November 2003.  If you are not on the mailing list for this conference contact Paul Gorenzel at  (530) 752-2263, or wpgorenzel@ucdavis.edu.  For additional information on the conference as it develops, refer to the VPC web site: http://www.vpconference.org

The pre-registration fee of the four-day self-supporting conference is expected to be about $200.  This fee will include a copy of the Proceedings.  The Proceedings of the conference is published following the conference and provides the collection of papers while the subjects are still fresh in mind.
